When I was in third grade, I moved to a new house within the same town. I did not want to move. At. All. Ever. Why would a nine year old ever want to leave all of her best friends? I learned to love my house, and I still love it. But that’s a whole other story entirely.
The biggest thing I discovered when I moved was that I LOVE interior design. I spent forever and a day a ton of time in Ethan Allen with my parents while they chose new pieces for our home, and I decided that I wanted to be an interior designer. That dream stayed with me throughout most of high school until I discovered event planning. However, I love events for the same reason I love designing spaces: it’s a chance to make something reflect your personal style. From furniture and rugs to color palettes and flowers, design fascinates me to no end.
One of my biggest design goals is to have a gallery wall hanging above my desk or bed or sofa. I want it to be filled with inspiring quotes, prints, and personal photos because I strongly believe that you should be surrounded by what you love. I envision each piece hanging in a white frame, just like these from Pottery Barn. My gallery wall is definitely a dream in progress because I already have a couple of pieces saved or pinned for the future. Here are a few of my favorites:

Do you love interior design? What are your favorite pieces? I would love to know!
P.S.: I used to play the computer game The Sims just to decorate the houses. So there’s that. : )
