As promised, I’m continuing to create inspiration boards as an ode to my favorite places from my trip (see my first wildflower board here!). Today’s board is dedicated to, quite possibly, my favorite place of all time: the beach on Kiawah Island. Sun, sand, and ocean waves are my favorite in any season, but the summer may win by just a little bit.
To me, there is nothing like the way the sun hits the water on the clearest of summer days. There’s also nothing quite like looking down a beach, and watching as your eyes fall upon dozens of families making sandcastles, jumping into the ocean, strolling in the waves, and biking down the beach with the sea breeze at their backs. The summer on Kiawah is truly my favorite time of year.
The caption on my Instagram post still says it best: Allll of the perfect weather. :)
Today’s board is filled with neutrals and pops of green and blush tones. I’m envisioning a wedding ceremony and reception taking place on the beach rather than simply overlooking the water. Relaxed elegance is the theme here – the kind where you feel welcomed and completely comfortable as you kick off your shoes once your feet hit the sand. Shells, string lights, and reclaimed wood are just a few of the details I would love to include. Rather than filling my palette with color, I decided to let the sunset be the focus and palette. Is there anything that can really compete with the sight of a gorgeous sunset? A gorgeous bride and groom, but otherwise…nothing. Enjoy!
