I mentioned last week that I would be back to share my favorite products and brands that I found at NY Now, and I am so excited to unveil them to you!
The thing about trade shows – any kind really – is they are huge, and NY Now was, without a doubt, the largest show I’ve ever attended. Have you ever been inside of a warehouse? Well, picture walking through three massive warehouses stacked one right on top of the other because this show was three stories. Needless to say, there were a ton of products represented, and they ranged from interior design beauties to perfume. The booths that stood out the most to me were those filled with bright colors, sweet associates, and unique pieces that I would definitely love to own and give to my friends as gifts (or can see you doing the same!).
Without further ado, let’s get started (warning: this is a long post, but it’s worth it)!
I loved chatting with Ryan, the creator of these adorable banners, from Tin Parade. This banner is my all time favorite because it’s perfect for a dessert bar at a rustic, DIY, or vintage wedding. She has many more styles, so be sure to check them out here.
Y’all know my thoughts on stationery, so it’s no surprise that I loved Ecojot’s notebooks and journals. I adore quotes and bright colors, but it’s their mission that I love most – for every Jumbo Journal sold they giveaway a notebook or a pen to a child in need in order for them to have the right supplies to learn.
I found See Design later on during my day, and their brightly colored patterns caught my eye right away. I adore their makeup bags and pencil cases, but their laptop cases are my number one favorite!
Ban.do’s booth was actually one of the first I went to while exploring my second floor of the day (it was actually NY Now’s first floor). I adored talking with Kelly, Ban.do’s Director of Marketing, about the brand’s new Super Cute necklace line as well as their retro hair accessories and awesome cell phone cases. Plus, let’s just talk about their floor installation…because it rules.
Although I’m 24, I still sometimes gravitate towards kids’ décor when it’s sophisticated. Pehr Designs’ latest new brand, Petit Pehr’s, adorable canvas storage bins have colorful, durable, and purposeful happening in spades. How perfect would these be for your first apartment or your college dorm? I want them please and thank you. : )
Pillows + tote bags + makeup bags + laundry bags (!!!) = I basically died when I saw Malabar Bay’s collection. Their patterns are adorable and perfectly bright and preppy, and you can feel and tell that these products are well made. LOVE! PS: They also sell really cute pajamas!
Kate Spade is just now launching a line of stationery and paper goods through Lifeguard Press, and needless to say it does not disappoint. At all. Ever. The “Peace. Hope. Cookies.” are the best Christmas cards because they could not be truer. Dear Kate Spade, you can do no wrong.
Working Class Studio:
This booth and its mission blew me away. Seriously, I wish my college had this type of program! Working Class Studio is a division of the Savannah College of Art and Design, and it provides students with an awesome opportunity to design products and see them mass-produced and sold. Plus, all of the items sold are part of a collection named after the student who designed them. How’s that for a resume builder? The tea towels really caught my eye, but be sure to check out the rest of the collections here.
Rifle Paper Co:
I walked into the Rifle Paper Co. booth and died. Their floral prints are my favorite because they have the perfect touch of whimsy while still being completely feminine. I snapped so many pictures of their cards and stationery, and I also adore their phone cases. I could go on and on about Rifle Paper Co., but I’ll leave it at that. Wait…LOVE THEM! OK, now I’m done. : )
To all of the lovely people and brands I met, thank you for being so kind. I had the best day.
Which products from this bunch stand out to you? I’d love to hear!
PS: See more of my adventures in NYC here!
Love Working Class Studio and Ecojot’s missions, and what could be more appropriate than a notebook covered with the saying “Creativity takes Courage?” Maybe a card from Rifle Paper Company with the saying “This Too Shall Pass.” And I want (have to have) the Kate Spade Christmas cards that say “Hope Peace Cookies!”
