Whenever I reach out to a new photographer (or vice versa), I always first ask to see an engagement session or a wedding. However, Mackenzie had the best response to my question when she asked if I would be interested in publishing an anniversary session. And when she explained the concept behind Josh and Taylor’s session and included a sample of the awesome moments she captured, I was totally on board. Just wait until you hear (and see) more!
But before you jump straight into the gorgeous photos, know this: there is more to a great photographer than talent alone. Beyond gorgeous photos, I always search to feature the most genuine people too. Mackenzie definitely fits the bill. This girl is filled to the brim with a true love for her life and it shows in her work.
A note from Mackenzie: “After five years of dating, Josh and Taylor tied the knot in 2011! They were married at Taylor’s suburban Chicago childhood home and happily moved to Savannah, Georgia, as newlyweds, just 3 days later to start their new lives there! On their anniversary each year, Taylor participates in the Bridal Revolution. This sweeping trend allows the Bride to, once again, wrap herself in the timeless memories that surround her wedding gown. This year, I got to be a part of Josh and Taylor’s lovely tradition!
I loved being able to explore and shoot in downtown Savannah…. the architecture, the history, and the landscape are all absolutely stunning. From the minute we started planning their shoot, I knew we needed to take advantage of the incredible city they are in, so we started the day in downtown Savannah and headed to the water later in the day, just in time for the gorgeous sunset! I absolutely adored the time I got to spend with this gorgeous couple and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to capture this stage of their lives in Savannah!”

I adore the concept behind Josh and Taylor’s session, and I love how you can just feel their happiness and fun-loving nature. How awesome would it be to put on your dress again each year? I hope you continue your tradition, J + T!
North Carolina and Minneapolis brides (and families!), you are one lucky bunch to have such a talent within reach! Make sure to pop over to Mackenzie’s site and blog to see more of her work. Plus, she is such an inspiration. She just graduated from high school. Shocked? I was too. Mackenzie proves that you should follow your heart no matter how old (or young) you are. Age is just a number and talent shines so much brighter.
Beautiful pictures and couple. The pictures show the love they have for each other.
I’ve not heard of this “bridal revolution” concept! So you put your gown on and take pictures every anniversary? That’s kind of fun ;-)
Love the “bridal revolution” idea! Why should a gorgeous gown like Taylor’s be worn only one day? I hope Josh and Taylor have a lifetime of laughter and happiness, which can be captured in lovely photos like these. My favorite one is of them smiling at each other, nose to nose. A special note to Mackenzie: You just graduated from high school? You have and amazing talent!!!
