Although at least part of my heart belongs to the South, there are definitely perks to living in the Northeast. By perks, I mean I live less than two hours away from New York City. I grew up wanting to be Eloise and live at the Plaza, so I tend to accept any and every opportunity that will allow me to go on an adventure in one of my favorite cities.
On Sunday, I decided to hop on a train to NYC in order to explore NY Now. Essentially, NY Now is a lifestyle trade show that retailers from Target to boutique owners attend in order to discover new products and brands. My favorite pieces are those that are a little bit more unique while still being budget friendly. The show was three stories (go big or go home!), and I definitely discovered a number of products and brands that I will be reviewing this week!
In the meantime, I thought I would share some snapshots of my day because I always make time to explore, and I always manage to find something new and different. Sunday was slightly dreary, but I love NYC even in the rain.
Badges that say “press” and have my blog listed make me incredibly happy…
I love One Kings Lane, and I may or may not have made a special trip to their booth just to take home one of these bags. After mentioning that my mom and I are huge HGTV Star fans (OKL had a pop up shop in every episode during this summer’s season), one of their sweet sales associates offered me a second bag for my mom. I love awesome brands with lovely employees.
Don’t even get me started on Rifle Paper Co. I picked up two coasters for my home office, and this pattern is perfection. I walked into their booth and about died. I love their branding.
Ban.do wins for most creative floor display. I think we all need to live by this motto…
The Javits Center (where the show was held) has awesome views of the Hudson River. You can see a huge Norwegian Cruise Line ship peeking out on the right! It had water slides that I would love to go on. : )
After NY Now, I went exploring because my favorite thing to do in NYC is wander. Anywhere.
As I walk to the Penn Station, I always pass by Parsons. For the longest time, this was my dream school. And I still would love to take even one class here.
I went to NYC for the first time when I was eight to see Beauty & the Beast on Broadway, and I’ve loved this city ever since. Oh, and if you need me this week, I’ll be going through each and every one of these press packets. One of my (many) versions of fun.
I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! I’ll be back with two more posts this week, and be sure to check back Monday for my review of NY Now!
Sing it with me now: “I love New York!”
Great pictures!!! Love it!
