I feel such an honor when I coordinate a wedding for a couple or design a piece, like flowers, for their event. So, you can only imagine how I feel when I get to attend an event surrounding a wedding, like a bridal shower, and design flowers for the event. Over the weekend, I did just that.
I was basically beside myself with excitement. Surprised? Don’t be.
When I say I loved designing the centerpieces for a family friend’s bridal shower this past weekend, I mean it. Really and truly. The garden party theme for the shower suited the venue perfectly, so I set out to design centerpieces inspired by the theme, location, and invitations from Paper Source that featured a vintage mason jar. Shades of pink quickly became the focal color of the palette, but I knew I wanted to add in pops of yellow, green, and ivory too. Each centerpiece was filled with roses, spray roses, dianthus, ranunculus, hydrangea, and the best gift from the flower gods: coral charm peonies. So lovely!
I felt honored and happy and nervous (all of the nerves!), but I was mostly so grateful and excited to play a small role in such a wonderful day for a sweet person. At my core, I live to make someone else smile. And I’m thrilled that these flowers made the bride, her mom, and all of the guests happy. Plus, many took them home! Take a peek behind-the-scenes:
The happiest car ever…
