First, let me just say that sweet couples and happy photographers make the best combinations. Ever since she submitted Kaitlyn and Canon’s engagement session, I’ve loved chatting with Carolyn from Carolyn Marie Photography, and I can’t help but smile when I see K + C’s photos. I love that they opted to host their e-session at Duke Chapel where Canon is an attendant. I also adore the fact that this couple enjoys playing guitar together and made sure to include their favorite activity in their photos.
Two surefire way to have gorgeous photos result from your engagement session: have them taken at a place that holds meaning for you and your fiancé and participate in a favorite activity. When you’re comfortable and excited, your emotions will show the exact same and you will find yourself relaxing in front of your photographer.
A note from Carolyn: “Kaitlyn and Canon are so natural together. They started dating the summer after their sophomore year in college so they’ve had several years to get comfortable with each other, and you can just feel their love for each other when they are together! Canon’s proposal included flower petals, candles, and serenading, so you know he’s a catch, and Kaitlyn is just about the sweetest person I’ve taken photos of to date. They love to play music together and have had many a late evening on the top of Duke Chapel (Canon is an attendant there, so they have the inside scoop) singing and playing together and just enjoying each other’s company. Their engagement shoot was sprinkled with a delightful combination of laughter and quiet moments, a perfect mix of silly and serious, covered over entirely with love. I can’t wait to capture more of their love at their wedding in November!”
