True story: I look out of the window by my front door every day to see if the peonies are blooming yet. They’re bright pink. Naturally, I’m a little obsessed. As much as I love them, one of the biggest misnomers about peonies is you can use them in bouquets all year long. Peonies have such a short blooming season – late spring through very early summer depending on where you live – and they are also particularly expensive. If you have your heart set on peonies, think about getting married when they’re in season. Also, mix other blooms into your bouquets, centerpieces, and other floral arrangements to lower the cost. I adore when peonies are paired with roses, ranunculus, and dusty miller to name a few pretty combinations! Also, garden roses look very similar to peonies. In fact, I may love them even more. What? I know, craziness.
In honor of the start of peony season, a few of my favorite bright and pastel inspiration points:

We had peonies in our yard when I was young. I can still remember my mom telling us to be sure to shake all the ants off before bringing them in the house. Makes me smile. Thanks.
It’s amazing how we won’t have to do any planning for your wedding. I’ll just have to refer back to your beautiful inspiration boards!
