A Little Update…

Friends! Holy break! I never intended to take such a long break from my blog, but it definitely happened. Let’s back up for a moment, shall we? Here’s a bit of a low down of what’s been happening:

I was contacted by a flower company to design a sweet DIY project, which then prompted me to design a full photo shoot…in a matter of two weeks. That timeline really turned into one week. Ah, yes. (This is where the known upcoming break turned crazy.) I borrowed my Nana’s china, crafted, and designed 15+ flower arrangements. The shoot turned into such a pretty morning, and I loved spending it with my photographer friend, Amanda, who is (very sadly) moving away. Plus I was able to give away almost all of the arrangements I designed. There’s nothing quite like saying, “Hi! Would you like some flowers?” to co-workers, friends, and neighbors (a few of which I’ve never spoken to before). Flowers are my love language.

The day after the photo shoot, I was on the road to Charleston! I typically don’t look forward to my 13 hour road trips, but I was suuuuuper excited for this one. I was forced to sit, relax, and do next to nothing for an entire day. That served as a great breather because I worked a 16 hour wedding on Saturday. At this point, my week was a trip to crazy town, and I kept reminding myself to just make it to Sunday. But, there’s nothing like working a wedding with a great friend and catching up while overlooking a ceremony and reception on a marsh. Plus, I had the best brunch on Sunday followed by a really fun meeting overlooking a marina.

While I was in SC, I was so surprised to learn that a photo shoot I helped design with a group of Charleston friends was published on the blog A Lowcountry Wedding! I loved getting to relive that day! We spent the day in a treehouse tucked away in a neighborhood right near Sarah’s office. It was one of those moments of wanting to collaborate on a vintage project and asking each person to bring what she could. Potluck photo shoots are fun, y’all! We all loved the result, and seeing it featured on a lovely blog is the best part! Side note: I’m holding a knife in one of the photos because I was cutting cake. I just feel like that needs to be clarified. HA! Eeek! ;)
