Some days are just rough. Things do not fall into place the way I would like them to no matter how hard I try, or a great day might be altered because of a rude remark from someone else that is completely out of my control. When these mishaps occur, sometimes I find myself wanting the day to just end already allowing me to skip ahead to the promise of tomorrow. Has this ever happened to you?
I’ve fallen in love with this quote (and naturally it needed a graphic : ):
And it’s completely and totally true. Over the past couple of months I have tried to change my thinking, and for the most part it’s worked.
Last Friday could have easily been labeled as “terrible”. I received news that I didn’t want to hear, and to top it all off it was pouring…as in torrential downpours…while my possible “bad” day was happening. After I received my news, I decided to make an attempt to get my favorite bow necklace fixed. I adore this necklace because it’s pink and has bows and inspired my logo, and I was certain that it was a goner. But my local jewelry shop fixed it in two minutes and didn’t charge me for it. Plus, the sweet woman fixing it told me my naturally curly hair looked beautiful. I could have hugged her. Later on Friday night, I received an email from my favorite pen pal. She wrote exactly what I needed to hear without realizing the impact she was about to have (check out Heart Love Weddings right here!). Oh, the irony. Nice people are seriously the best ever.
Did I still receive bad news? Yes. Was my day completely terrible? No, because I found the good in it despite the literal and figurative downpours.
I challenge you to find something good in every day because something, no matter how terrible your day may be, has the power to brighten it if you open your mind to the possibilities.
Happy weekend, friends!
P.S.: I am still obsessed with Wednesday’s featured wedding!
